PrintHouse League Overview

New to Peterborough Hockey?!

What you need to know….

P.H.A. House League Hockey for ages 3 to 18!!!

The IP6 Initiation Program is part of the Hockey Canada Skill Development Series and is the OMHA’s official Skill Development Program. A hockey association's Initiation Program is its very foundation - the base upon which it builds its house leagues, and rep teams.

The Initiation Program offers players aged 3-6 the opportunity to have fun and develop fundamental skills while learning about the game of hockey on age and skill appropriate teams/divisions in a safe, positive and constructive learning environment

Have an older child wishing to play hockey? The P.H.A. also have Tyke, Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam and Midget divisions. These divisions range in age of 7 through to 18 year olds.

The Peterborough Hockey Association’s purpose is to organize, develop and promote minor hockey for the youth of Peterborough and the surrounding area. This includes the opportunity for all eligible individuals to participate in recreational house league ice hockey, and to provide community hockey programs which will allow a player to participate in a safe environment of fun, physical exercise and fair play.

The PHA achieves this purpose by offering programs designed to enhance participation in hockey and instill in all players, coaches, volunteers and members associated with the PHA good sportsmanship, correct and proper behavior on and off the ice, respect for oneself, others and team play.

House League ice times/days are typically early Saturday and Sunday mornings mid-September through to our Finals; the first weekend in March. Days/times do vary from this for older age groups, Bantam and up.

If you have any further questions regarding House League hockey in Peterborough for any age please reach out to VP of House League Pete Simon
